I usually commute for more than an hour every day going to and from work, daycare and home. I rely heavily on podcasts to keep me sane while I drive!

I also listen to my favorite podcasts when I’m at home after the kids go to bed. When I’m home I like to throw on a comfy tee and jeans, kick back on the couch and listen with my Beats by Dre Bluetooth headphones and my phone. Oh, and grab a glass of wine. Kinda wish I was doing that now.

But anyway, here are my five podcasts that will make your commute fun! And I don’t use the word “fun” lightly. Listening to these podcasts always make me laugh and help make traffic more bearable.

Podcast Recommendation #1: The Hey Frase Podcast

The Hey Frase Podcast is hosted by former DC radio personality Sarah Fraser. I started listening to Sarah when she was a co-host on the DC morning show “The Kane Show” on Hot 99.5. When she left radio and started her podcast, I was really curious to see if I’d like her personality as much as I did before. And I totally did! She’s funny and she keeps it real. I really enjoy when DC personality Paul Wharton is on the show, he’s hilarious. Sarah and her guests talk about pop culture, news stories and inspirational stories, in addition to real-life segments. I can always rely on the Hey Frase podcast to make me laugh while I’m commuting to work. I’d recommend this podcast to anyone who likes pop culture stories and laughing as much as I do!

Podcast Recommendation #2: The Melanie Mineau Show

Melanie Glazener and her brother Michael Glazener host The Melanie Mineau Show in this once-a-week podcast. I started listening to Melanie when she was also a co-host on The Kane Show, and I always related to Melanie the most out of all the co-hosts because she’s around my age. Listening to The Melanie Mineau show is fun because it’s all about pop culture (can you tell I have a thing for pop culture?) and real stories from the hosts’ lives.

I think I specifically gravitate towards this podcast because I have a few things in common with Melanie, in addition to our ages being similar, we also both love Pure Barre and Disney. It’s also fun that it’s a brother-sister team. There are times when they talk about their family and I can imagine having the same conversation with one of my own brothers. This is a perfect podcast for those of you who enjoy pop culture and hearing life stories from the minds of millennials.

Podcast Recommendation #3: The Dais Podcast

If you ever need inspiration for business or just for life, The Dais Podcast by Rachel Hollis is for you! Rachel is fantastic and I highly recommend checking out her podcast and her social media accounts. The Dais Podcast often features Rachel interviewing another businesswoman or influencers who are successful and willing to offer advice to other women. It’s inspiring, funny, and entertaining. I discovered this podcast after learning about Rachel’s book “Girl, Wash Your Face,” (which I also highly recommend checking out). I’ve been looking for a podcast to inspire me to be creative and work hard, and this podcast has done just that.

Podcast Recommendation #4: The Brain Candy Podcast

This show is co-hosted by Susie Meister and Sarah Rice, two former cast members on MTV’s Road Rules, Real World and The Challenge. I’m obsessed with almost all of MTV’s reality shows, including Real World and The Challenge. I was excited to learn Susie and Sarah had a podcast. But I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the show because it’s not really a “Challenge” podcast. I knew I liked Sarah’s personality on the show so I wanted to check out the podcast.

What I love about the Brain Candy Podcast is that it’s a nice mix of nerdy stories and pop culture news stories. It definitely leans more towards nerdy than the other podcasts on my list, but that’s why I like it. I feel like I learn some random facts every time I listen to an episode. They also usually interview a guest at the end of the podcast, typically the author of a book. It’s neat to learn about new and interesting books and authors that way. I’d recommend this podcast to people like me who enjoy a bit of nerd information with their pop culture.

Podcast Recommendation #5: Coffee Convos with Kail Lowry and Lindsie Chrisley

Coffee Convos is a new podcast that I started listening to a few months ago. Teen Mom 2 cast member Kail Lowry and Chrisley Knows Best cast member Lindsie Chrisley are the hosts. I’ve been a fan of the Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 franchise for a long time, so I was already following Kail on social media when the podcast launched. I had never heard of Lindsie or her show before so I wasn’t sure what I’d think about her. And I have to admit, I prefer Kail’s personality, but Lindsie adds a different perspective to the podcast at times. Both women are moms, like me, and they’re both young like me so I enjoy being able to relate to some of their parenting stories.

They usually talk about their personal experiences as reality tv stars, young women and moms. Every now and then Kail and Lindsie touch on pop culture stories, but most of the time they talk about their personal lives. I’ve enjoyed the podcast so far. I would suggest if you check out the Coffee Convos podcast that you start listening a few episodes in. The first couple of episodes are tough to listen to. I think they were just finding their rhythm in the beginning, but it gets better! I would recommend this one for other moms like me or anyone who likes watching Teen Mom. They’ve had a few Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 stars on the show as guests and it’s always a good time.

I hope you check out one of the five podcasts that will make your commute fun. I’m always on the lookout for new podcasts to check out. Leave a comment down below with your podcast recommendations for me to check out!
