summer bucket listIt’s almost here guys. The official start of summer is next week so I’ve taken some time to put together 10 Summer Bucket List items for me and the family to make this season an awesome one! And the best thing about this list is that I know these items will make your life better if you give them a try too! I hope these Summer Bucket List items can help inspire you guys to make this summer awesome.

I have to admit, I’m not a huge fan of the heat that comes with summer. But I am a fan of the fun things that come with summer. I love beach hangouts, cookouts, fireworks, swimming, popsicles, picnics, and the relaxed party vibe that so often comes with the summer. I’m especially excited for this summer because the twins are turning 2 on July 1 and they’re at such a fun age where they can run around and laugh and joke around and even speak in some adorable toddler sentences. I’m looking forward to making some fun summer memories with them as we work through this Summer Bucket List I put together.

1. Have a fun beach day. (Autumn and Jack have never been to the beach, but they love fish, so I’m looking forward to exposing them to beach fun!)

2. Recommit to my self-care routines. (The summer can be a great time to slow down, but also a great time to refocus on what’s important, and that’s taking care of yourself.)

3. Throw an awesome Moana-themed second birthday for the twins. (They are OBSESSED with Moana, so they’re going to love this. Also, if you like Disney movies or have kids, you need to watch Moana. You won’t regret it.)

4. Finally finish reading “Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis”. (I’ve tried to finish this book forever and I’m going to commit to finishing it this summer. From what I’ve read so far, it’s fantastic and I highly recommend reading it if you need some extra motivation and inspiration in your life.)

5. Try out a new s’mores recipe. (I can’t decide if I want to try making a s’mores dessert or a s’mores drink, but both sound summery and delicious.)

6. Go on a family cruise. (We’re actually already booked to go on a cruise with Ryan’s family next month. Should be interesting for sure.)

7. Try to go outside my comfort zone and buy some new swimsuit styles. (This is going to be a stretch goal of sorts for me. I don’t usually branch out in terms of swimwear, but I’m trying to embrace my body and love it and try new things so I’m going to give it a go!)

8. Explore my city and surrounding area. (It can be great to travel, but it’s also cool to check out and appreciate local spots nearby!)

9. Beautify my garden. (As a homeowner, you have to take pride in your home’s appearance. This is an area that needs a lot of work at my house so I’m going to try my hand at gardening to beautify the front of my lawn. Any gardening tips??)

10. Take a road trip to see friends. (Making an effort to see out-of-town friends can be tough, especially when you have kids. But it’s so important to make time to see those friends and maintain those connections.)

What’s on your summer bucket list this year?

More than anything, I want to let loose and have fun and wear a lot more gingham prints like the one in these photos. My gingham obsession just won’t quit.
